Happy Diwali to you too, NS.
Hey there! I don’t know how I landed on your blog, but I am glad I did. Have been reading your posts, and loved them. Blogrolling you. Will be back to read more.
I am a big lover of travel, too, and hence could relate to your posts a lot. Particularly loved your posts on travel in Gujarat. I am a Tam-Brahm, brought up in Ahmedabad, now settled in Bangalore. I didn’t even know there were so many places to explore in Gujarat in spite of having lived there for 25 years!!
Glad to know that you liked Ahmedabad. Many outsiders don’t like Gujarat, but well, you weren’t an outsider, I suppose. 25 years! Long time! Bangalore would have been a big contrast no??
@NS
Yes, Bangalore was quite different from Ahmedabad, but I have gotten to love this place too, after being here for 4 years now.
I wasn’t an outsider in Ahmedabad. I am more of a Gujju than a Tamilian, leaning more towards Gujju food and culture than Tamilian.
I have always heard of people who go to Ahmedabad falling in love with it – for different reasons, its food, its peace, the shopping, the clothes, the people, its small-town yet mega-city experience, etc etc.
I LOVE Ahmedabad. It will be home to me always, though, very soon, I won’t have my family house there any more.
Same like me! We are originally from Maharashtra (though Hindi speaking) and have been here since 25+ years. You are right about Ahmedabad – its a total cosmo place. People from all kinds of state live there and love to live their forever.
Sad that you will letting go of the family home
PS: I am not Gujju but like you, am an adopted Gujju
Are you a Gujju, too?
Belated Diwali wishes to you Neha. I meant to send this to you a long time ago –http://www.dnambiartravelblog.com/2012/11/notable-travel-posts-tipsyfromthetrip.html
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Btw, When’s SJ happening?
